Oil Painting 101

Well, Oil Painting 101 is the perfect opportunity for you to dip your toes into 600 years of art history! Taught by award winning artist Brett Andrus, this class is designed to introduce you to the basics and help set you on the path to producing great paintings. Classes are hands-on, fun community events hosted in Andrus’s downtown studio (Bosky Studio). You will see REAL progress in your work as you develop good habits and explore different painting techniques. All skill levels are welcome! Advanced Oil Painting Studio
Starting Wednesday March 25th, meeting every Wednesday 7:30pm-9:30pm For 7 Weeks. $250
Are you an oil painter that is looking to grow your skill set and expand the way you move pigment? Are you looking for tips and tricks to grow your art career? Are you stuck, and unable to get yourself into your studio to paint? Then join Brett Andrus at Bosky Studio for an artistic tune up. The Advanced Oil Studio class is designed to be a self paced, guided work experience. You will have the opportunity to work on paintings you have already started, or you can choose to learn by letting Andrus design a path for you as you move through the class. The best part about the Advance Oil Class is the other students! You will immediately be part of an amazing group of hard working artists, helping each other through guided critiques, in depth art theory chats and go old fashion giggling. Do this for yourself. The art making journey requires you to grow and learn, and Brett is here to support you.
Intro to drawing
Starting Thursday March 26th, meeting every Thursday 5:30pm-7:30pm For 7 Weeks. $250
Have you ever said “I can’t even draw a stick figure”? Let’s fix that! Introduction to drawing is a class designed to give you the tools to start putting pencil to paper and draw what you see. You will learn the essential elements that make a good drawing. Drawing is one of the most important steps in the art making process and is an amazing skill set that will free you up to explore the world around you. Taught by award winning artist Brett Andrus at his downtown studio, Bosky Studio, you will be immersed in a fun and challenging setting, learning step by step techniques designed to expand the way you see and hone your hand eye coordination. All skill levels are welcome. Take the step, give yourself the gift of drawing.

Soul, Surface, Structure, Symbol
with Doreille Caimi and Brett Andrus AUG 13th-17th
Mastering the Human Form: Dorielle and Brett will guide you through the techniques of painting the human figure with both precision and expression. Learn how to capture not just the physical likeness, but the essence of your subject, with emphasis on anatomy, light, shadow, composition, and form.
Symbolism in Art: Learn how to incorporate symbolic elements into your work to convey complex ideas, emotions, and messages. We will discuss the use of visual metaphors, color theory, and other symbolic devices to give your work greater depth and resonance.
Conceptual Exploration: Tap into your creativity and push beyond the traditional boundaries of figurative painting. This workshop will introduce you to conceptual art practices, helping you to think critically about the themes and messages you wish to explore in your artwork.
Personal Expression: Through guided exercises and individual feedback, we’ll help you discover and evolve your own voice as an artist. You’ll have the space to explore personal themes, ideas, and stories through your paintings, while gaining the confidence to express yourself authentically.
The Experience: This is more than just a painting workshop—it’s an immersive creative retreat. We’ve planned an unforgettable week full of inspiration, community, and good food. Bosky Studio's location in Downtown Colorado Springs places us in the heart of a vibrant artistic community, with access to local galleries, cafes, and cultural landmarks. The workshop itself will offer ongoing demos by Brett and Dorielle, a lecture, one-on-one guidance, and plenty of free time to experiment, reflect, and develop your ideas.
At the end of each day, we’ll gather for delicious meals together, sharing stories, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow artists, and celebrating the creative process. We want you to leave this workshop not only with new skills and finished works but also with new friendships and memories of an enriching, and an altogether fun-filled week.
